Joel Gott / Zinfandel 2002
opened 04/20/04, $15, Alameda Marketplace

- smell: 'like flowers in the throat', blood, hand after touching a wet metal railing, burnt sugar

- sweet, 1 acidic, 5 medium-bodied, 4 bitter

- taste: peppercorns, pomegranate w/o sugar, foundry (as in a place where iron is forged), tobacco, plum skin

- aftertaste: rolling + easy, leaves a memory at the back of your tongue, a contemplative wine that leaves you feeling natural

: it's an excellent old-world swallowing wine; highly pleasurable as such

--> Pretty good, but you certainly have to be in the mood for it.

: keeps well for a while: more than a week
still spirited on 04/29
