Has anybody noticed the exceedingly strange banner ads on the internet for George W. Bush's campaign? I mean, they are really weird.

One of them has a picture of his face, and next to that it says, "We need a president whose foreign policy works." Paid for by the Republican National Committee. I mean, doesn't it strike you as odd that that setup could work equally well as an argument to get him out of office?

And then, and then I just saw another one that says, "The 2000 election demonstrates that every single vote counts... Only 20,000 votes decided four states... Make a Difference! George W. Bush!" It's like we are being warned that unless we vote well, we will get what we got in 2000.

Every time I see one of those, it makes me laugh. Who are they hiring to do these things? Their method of 'suggestion' is really leaving a lot of room for error. Or perhaps they have unwittingly hired Douglas Rushkoff, subversive advertiser extraordinaire. Either way, they sure make ya think!
